Camping De Wigwam is on the opposite site of the road from the extensive Gaasterland woodlands of southern Friesland, and only three kilometres to the shore of the IJsselmeer and its beaches. This is a fairly open site with 200 pitches (about half for tourers) divided into grass areas by hedges, each taking between four and 20 units and all with electricity (up to 16A). Numbered pitches are separated to the back by high hedges, which provide some shade. A café behind reception offers simple meals and takeaway. In high season, plays and bicycle tours are organised and there is a small paddling pool for toddlers.

Getting there...
From the A6, take exit 17 for Lemmer and continue west on N359 road. Turn south towards Sondel, then Nijemirdum and Oudemirdum. In Oudemirdum, follow site signs.
