Camping Aquileia

Aquileia, Friuli - Venézia Giúlia, North East

Alan Rogers Review

Situated in former parkland under mature trees, Camping Aquileia, with 121 level and grass touring pitches, is a quiet site 10 km. away from the bustling coastal beaches. The pitches, all with 4/6A electricity, are separated from the entrance, swimming pool and play areas by tall hedges, and the more peaceful part of the site with the newer sanitary block is at the rear of the site. The now small town of Aquileia, founded in 181 BC, became one of the most important Roman military and trading posts and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the basilica, only a short walk from the campsite, along the former harbour, lays one of the world’s most magnificent mosaics.
