Le Lac is a member of the Campéole group and enjoys a fine location in the mountains of Haute-Provence. The site can be found at an altitude of 800 m. on the banks of the large Lac de Serre Ponçon and many of the site’s 300 pitches (210 for tourers) have fine views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. All are of a good size with electricity hook ups and ample water points. The access road down to the site (3 km) is fairly steep and winding but it is certainly worth the effort. The waters of the lake have an alluring blue-green hue and shelve gradually from the site’s beach. There is also an ecological swimming pool, using natural water, consistent with this stunning natural setting.

Several toilet blocks have all the usual facilities. Wet room for disabled visitors. Laundry areas. Bar and restaurant (1/6-15/9). Shop and takeaway (1/7-31/8). Eco swimming pool (with lifeguard). Fishing. Volleyball. Tennis. Play area. Canoes and boat hire. Activity and entertainment programme. Tourist information. Mobile homes, chalets and equipped tents for rent. Free WiFi in reception area.

Location
Getting there...
The site is close to the village of St Vincent-les-Forts. From Gap, head south on N85 and then join the D900b following signs to Barcelonnette. Continue on this road along the valley of the Durance passing the massive Barrage (dam) de Serre Ponçon and continue towards St Vincent-les-Forts. The site is well indicated from here.
