A site that lives up to its name, this one is very large, with 727 pitches. However, 245 are occupied by Bengali tents to rent, 60 by private caravans and 29 by tour operators. There are still 394 numbered touring pitches in rows, all with 10A electricity and spread over undulating sand dunes with sparse grass under pine trees. The site is served by eight fairly modern and fairly well maintained toilet blocks around the site. Some of the terraced pitches at the rear of the site have views of the impressive bridge onto the Ile de Noirmoutier, and there is direct access to a sandy beach via a gate.
Facilities
Eight toilet blocks, all of a similar design, include some washbasins in cubicles, seatless toilets, baby bath, and a good unit for disabled campers. One laundry room. Outdoor heated swimming pool (15/5-19/9). Shop for bread and basics. Bar and takeaway (1/7- 31/8). Playgrounds, trampoline and bouncy castle. Entertainment and clubs for children (1/7-31/8). Multi-sports court. Boules. Bicycle hire. No charcoal barbecues. Supplement for double axle caravans. WiFi (charged).

Getting there...
Site is on the mainland at the approach to the lle de Noirmoutier. From the north via Bourgneuf-en-Retz take D758 to Beauvoir-sur-Mer, then D22 to La Barre-de-Monts. Continue through town ignoring road to Fromentine. At town boundary turn right on D38b (slightly oblique turn), signed Ile de Noirmoutier. In 500 m, straight on at roundabout for about 1 km. then right signed Grand Côte and Fromentine. Take next left for 1 km. to site (entrance on right).
