Alan Rogers Review
This countryside campsite is located in an 80-acre country park, with ancient broadleaf woodland, plenty of marked walks, a woodland railway which also runs Santa Specials (bookings taken from 1 August). The campsite has 65 pitches arranged around an open meadow area, served by a circular gravel roadway, with low level site lighting. There are 26 hardstanding pitches, and 44 electric hook-ups (10A). Although fairly recently laid out, the site is maturing well. American RVs and other large units should use the coach entrance and they (and all other arrivals after 18.00) are asked to phone ahead so that arrangements can be made for the barrier.
Facilities
Two well insulated and heated, timber clad buildings are at one end of the site. Some washbasins in cubicles, large, controllable hot showers. Family rooms (on payment). Fully equipped suite for disabled campers with ramped approach and alarm. Laundry and ironing facilities. Motorcaravan services. Gas available. Milk, bread, newspapers to order from reception/shop. Fully licensed café serving meals and refreshments all day. Takeaway food service during peak times. Fishing. Entry barrier (key code). Cycling allowed on site but not in Country Park.
