This small, traditional-style site provides a useful stopover on the route from Germany to Sweden, within easy reach of the Puttgarden - Rødby ferry. There are 100 level grass pitches (70 for tourers), most with electricity (10A Europlug) and although there are a fair number of seasonal units, one can usually find space. There is a pool at a nearby sports centre. The site has a well-stocked shop, which is open long hours, but the attractive town centre is semi-pedestrianised and has a good range of shops and a supermarket. The town is noted for its unusual ‘smiling’ water tower, which you pass on the way to the site.
Danish Islands
Known as the Garden of Denmark, Fyn has some of Denmark’s most picturesque and historic castles and manor houses and Odense is famous as the birthplace of the great fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen. Sjælland is the largest and most important island of Denmark with coasts indented by bays and fjords. The main city is Copenhagen, the Danish capital.
